The Mirabell Palace
Mirabell Palace is rightly recognized as the most romantic place in the whole of Austria. The palace was built on the orders of Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau. The priest built this magnificent building specifically for his ladylove Salome Alt, who bore him 15 children. After the death of his cousin Wolf threw straw from the palace, and to forget about the sin of his cousin, who was not supposed to start a family, the castle has given a new name - Mirabel.
Over the next two centuries, this building served as the residence for senior priests. Up to now the once-scale architectural ensemble survived only marble hall, grand staircase and a Gothic church.
Surrounds the palace magnificent park, which is called the Mirabell Garden. On its territory to equip chic fountain, located ancient sculptures of lions, there is a unique green labyrinth and summer theater.
To get to the Mirabell Palace can be on any public transport passing through the center of Salzburg.
