St. Stephen's Cathedral

One of the most famous architectural structures in Vienna is the Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral. The founder of this structure was the bishop of Passau, who consecrated him in 1147. For several decades, the cathedral rebuilt and acquired new architectural elements. 

The temple was erected directly over a huge burial ground, where thousands of people are buried. Here are stored their internal organs, which are sealed in copper urns. Heart of these martyrs for some unknown reason are in third place - in the "crypt hearts" in Augustinian church. 

Its appearance resembles a cathedral huge snake scales. The interiors of the temple are decorated with rich carvings, unique works of art and numerous sculptures. 

Reach St. Stephen's Cathedral on the subway, you must go to the station Stefanplatz.
